What is Web 2.0

Web 2.0 is a direction in Internet technology.  The industry coined the term as websites moved from information only or brochureware to a platform environment that encourages interactivity, taking on the software version designation.

Web 2.0 typically encompasses the social or expressive technologies on the Internet, including blogs, podcasts, social networks such as MySpace, video, and other technology.  UniversalWit also classifies texting or social messaging as a Web 2.0 tool.
