Social Networks - Women Drivers
Each week, we take a trip beyond My Space, Facebook and YouTube to introduce you to a different social network. As you probably know, we are a Pittsburgh based company, yet we have not featured any of the Pittsburgh based social networks. We remedy this oversight this week with a look at Women Drivers.
Women Drivers is a social networking site that caters exclusively to women who buy and influence the purchase of cars. Members of the community can share their experiences at a dealership and voice their opinion to improve the dealer experience for women.
“Women purchase 53% of all new cars each year; however, they influence the purchase of 80%. That, along with what women spend on service work to their vehicles, translates into $200 Billion dollars worth of purchasing pow-her. Yet, the process of buying a car is uncomfortable for many women”, says President, Anne Fleming. “Why? The vast majority of car salespeople are men and this Venus- Mars communication phenomenon
can be intimidating.”
Members can access sections, including new and used cars, current trends, car terminology, and chat in the community forum. There is also a Her & His Car Review section that showcases the same car from two perspectives - female and male; see which gender gets the Best Cash Offer; “Don’t Get Chicked” videos also run on YouTube and on the home page.
Marketing opportunities on the site are exceptional for auto dealerships. WomenDrivers collects the experiences, preferences and demographics and sells this to the dealerships, trade associations and industry via the Women’s Satisfaction Index (WSI) INSIGHT subscriptions. These real time reports provide correlative tools which empower dealerships to educate and improve their sales to women ultimately increasing their loyalty and market share of the dollars spent by women.
Additional opportunities exist for products and services that cater to this demographic and content as well.
